Ada - Services for Linda Kay Hensley Vandewalker, 51, Ada, are 10 a.m. Friday in the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, the Rev. J.C. Farrand and Scott Kinney officiating. Burial follows in Rosedale Cemetery.Mrs. Vandewalker died June 22, 1994, at a local hospital. She was born Aug. 4, 1942 at Corpus Christie, Texas, to Kenneth and Mabel Claire Bushnell Hensley. She came to Ada in 1947 from Ardmore. She attended school at Washington elementary and graduated from Ada High School in 1960.
She attended Oklahoma City University and East Central. She was employed with Oklahoma Optical Supply Company in Ada. She was a Tupperware manager in New Orleans, Corpus Christi and Houston and later worked with Snelling and Snelling Employment Service.
In 1961, she was Ada city tennis champion. She taught ladies' tennis classes in Ada and McAlester. She is survived by a son, David Wayne Vandewalker, Spring, Texas; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Hensley, Ada; and two sisters, Pat Gurley, Ada, and Sue Kinney, Yukon.
Bearers are Chris Gurley, Floyd Gurley, Roger Arabi, Russ Gurley, Scott Kinney and Alan Arabi.
