Lewis L. Daniels. 1941 - 1980

Ada Evening News:  An Ada man was killed in a one-car crash about seven miles southeast of Stonewall on a county road at 4 p.m. Wednesday, according to the Highway Patrol.  Lewis L. Daniels, 39, 400 W. 5th, was dead on arrival at Valley View Hospital.  The Patrol said Daniels was southbound on the county road, veered to the right and lost control of his car, which overturned twice, coming to rest on its top.  There were no passengers and no other vehicles involved, the Patrol said.  Ada Trooper Steve West investigated the accident. Services for Lewis Daniels, 39, 400 W. 5th, will be 10 a.m. Saturday in the chapel of Smith-Barton Funeral   Home, with burial in Rosedale Cemetery.  Daniels died Wednesday from injuries received in an automobile accident southeast of Stonewall. He was born March 1, 1941, in Ada, to Darris and Bessie Holley Daniels, and was a graduate of Ada High School and East Central University.  He was a welder. Daniels was a member of the National Guard and the Jehovah's Witnesses. Survivors include his wife, Nita, Bowlegs;  one daughter, Holley, Bowlegs;  two sons, John and Mark, both of Ada;  his mother, Bessie Bridges, Ada;  one sister, Joyce Wall, Spring, Texas, and one brother, Hollis Daniels, Ravenna, Texas. Bearers will be Thomas Stark, Gary Reed, Charles Etier, Burl Williams, Mike Beller and Bob Tweedy.  Honorary bearers are Harry Anderson and Dean Tyler.
