Memorial rosary for Jon H. Krause, 69, Ada, is 7 p.m. Thursday, March
15, at Criswell Funeral home. A funeral Mass is 10 a.m. Friday at Saint
Joseph Catholic Church in Ada. Interment with military honors follows at
Swan Hill Cemetery. The Rev. Rusty Hewes and Dennis Fine, deacon,
officiating.
Mr. Krause died Sunday, March 11, 2012, at home. He was born Oct. 3,
1942, in Boston, Mass., to Reuben Ralph “Dick” Krause and Helen Howard
Krause.
Mr. Krause attended Saint Joseph Catholic School and graduated from Ada
High School in 1960. He enlisted in the United States Army and served
in Korea. Following military service, he received his bachelor’s degree
from East Central State College and attended the University of Oklahoma
College of Law, where he attained his Juris Doctor in 1975. Mr. Krause
was admitted to practice law on Sept. 11, 1975.
He married Shirley Davis on Nov. 6, 1980, in Fairbanks, Alaska.
Mr. Krause had a career as a corporate attorney in the oil and gas
industry and lived primarily in Houston, Texas, and New Orleans, La. He
retired to Ada with his wife in 2008.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley, of the home; a son and
daughter-in-law, Reuben and Paula Krause; and grandson, Ryder of Kapa’a,
Hawaii; a son Christopher Krause, Ada; a brother and sister-in-law,
Charles and Brenda Krause, Madill; a brother, Thomas Krause, Anchorage,
Alaska; a brother, Joseph Krause, Ada; and a sister and brother-in-law,
Karen and Dr. Ben Baker, Bartlesville; and many nieces, nephews, cousins
and friends.
Mr. Krause was preceded in death by his parents, R.R. “Dick” Krause and
Helen Howard Krause; a sister, Julia Beasley; and a brother and
sister-in-law Richard and Pat Krause.
Bearers are Reuben Krause, Christopher Krause, Charles Krause, Thomas
Krause, Joseph Krause and Ben Baker. Honorary bearers are be Jerry
Moore, Dennis Click, David Click and Mark Howard.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorials be made to the
American Heart Association. 7272 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, TX 75231, or
the American Arthritis Foundation.
Visitation will be at Criswell Funeral Home in Ada until Friday at 8:45
a.m. prior to removal to Saint Joseph Church for services.
